STREET ART | PHOTOGRAPHY & PHOTO-EDITING
Legal street art contributes to our vibrant urban environment. In this respect, street art is distinctly different to errant or wanton graffiti. This page showcases a street art photography project. We captured artwork, deemed as unique and brilliant, from the alleyways of Melbourne CBD approved and designated for street art. As a matter of fact, Melbourne is internationally-renowned for street art.
Street art faces change constantly. It is at risk of graffiti as well as degradation due to exposure to the elements. In addition, it faces removal owing to the gentrification or demolition of buildings. In our opinion, these superb works of art should be preserved in-situ. At the very least, these valuable street art should be documented. Correspondingly, the goal was to record, for perpetuity, the best works of art.
Kudos and thanks to the talented street artists for their fabulous, compelling and thought-provoking work.
We offered respect to the artists and artwork by strictly controlling and minimising post-editing. Most importantly, we avoided detraction from the artwork themselves. In essence, we used post-editing to restore the digitised artwork to what would have been their original appearance. For instance, we removed blemishes from dirt and marks. All in all, we believe we have done justice to the task.
